One week with My Tomte

Here’s what a week looks like once the tomte moves in. (Numbered, because it really does happen in this order.)

Step 1: Set up your household

Sunday morning, about 10 minutes

Add the people, their allergies, dietary rules and nutrition targets. Connect your calendars. Rate a handful of meals so the tomte gets a feel for your taste.

Step 2: Plan the week

one tap

My Tomte fills every meal, and leaves little notes on why: “Mia eats gluten free, so it’s marked gluten free”, “Sam’s at footy, so dinner’s for three”, “the spinach runs out Wednesday, so it’s in Tuesday’s pasta”.

Step 3: Shop

Saturday

Your list is the week minus what you’ve got, rounded to real pack sizes.

Step 4: Stock the kitchen

Snap the receipt and the fridge, freezer and pantry fill themselves in, prices and all.

Step 5: Prep on Sunday

Marinating, chopping and soaking turn into Sunday tasks, so weeknights are just cooking.

Step 6: Cook and eat

Tap Make now. Ingredients come off the shelves; leftovers go to the fridge; extras go to the freezer.

Step 7: It gets better every week

Your ratings, what you actually cooked and what you skipped all shape next week’s plan. By week four, the tomte knows you prefer tacos to tofu.
