Planned around everyone at your table
Allergies aren’t preferences, so My Tomte doesn’t treat them like one. Tell it once who can’t eat what, and it remembers at every meal, for every person, every week.
Allergies aren’t preferences, so My Tomte doesn’t treat them like one. Tell it once who can’t eat what, and it remembers at every meal, for every person, every week.
If a recipe isn’t marked to suit someone who’s eating, it never makes the plan. Not “ranked lower”. Not “probably fine”. Never.
And if that leaves a gap, My Tomte doesn’t just shrug. It tells you exactly which rule is blocking which meal, and how to fix it.
Pick from the rules built into My Tomte, person by person:
peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish and sesame
coeliac (gluten free), gluten intolerant, lactose intolerant
vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan, dairy free, nut-free household
lower sodium, lower sugar, lower saturated fat, low cholesterol
it follows common food guidance for pregnancy and tells you why a meal is off the menu (“this one has soft cheese in it”): soft cheese, high-mercury fish, deli meats, raw or chilled ready-to-eat foods, alcohol and liver. Check Food Standards Australia New Zealand’s guidance and your healthcare provider’s advice too
Not a fan of mushrooms? That’s a preference, not an allergy. Rate a meal Love it, Like it or Not for us, and the tomte learns. “Not for us” pushes a recipe down the list; it never locks it out completely. (Sometimes the mushrooms win. That’s life.)
Everyone can have their own targets for calories, protein, carbs, fat, fibre and sodium, and more than one profile if life needs it: training days and rest days, say. Each person’s day gets a simple traffic light, so you can see at a glance who’s on track.
Keep your friends’ and family’s dietary needs in My Tomte, so when the coeliac cousin comes for Sunday lunch, the plan already knows.
Suggested substitutions keep a recipe on the menu without breaking anyone’s rules. Dairy-free béchamel? Sorted.
My Tomte applies the rules you set, every time. But it can’t see inside every packet, and recipes and products change. It’s a guide for your household, not medical or dietary advice, so always check ingredients and allergen labels, and follow your healthcare provider’s advice.
Dietary rules, allergies, nutrition targets, multiple profiles, guests’ needs and substitutions are on every plan. Everyone’s rules count, whatever you pay.
A recipe has to be marked as matching a rule before it can be planned for that person. If it isn’t marked, it’s left out. (Marking comes from ingredient information, which can be wrong or out of date, so check the labels.)
Add as many rules as they need. Every one of them applies.
Yes. Gluten-free is a strict rule, just like any allergy.
Absolutely. Every person in the household has their own.
