Automatic weekly meal planner

A whole week of meals, planned in one tap

Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and dessert for everyone in the house, sorted before the kettle’s boiled. It works around allergies, busy nights and whatever’s lurking at the back of the fridge.

One tap. One whole week.

Tap Plan the week and My Tomte fills every slot for everyone eating, from breakfast to dessert. Want to get ahead? Plan up to two weeks at a time. It isn’t pulling names out of a hat, either. Every meal is picked for a reason:

Mia eats gluten free,

so every meal is marked gluten free.

Sam’s at footy on Thursday,

so dinner’s for three.

The spinach runs out on Wednesday,

so it’s in Tuesday’s pasta.

Nobody wants the same thing all week,

so it mixes things up.

Don’t love Wednesday? Swap one meal, redo one day, or start the whole week again. The tomte doesn’t take it personally.

Guard rails, for when you have opinions

Pin a meal.

Friday is pizza night. It’s the law.

Just “include it sometime”.

Want the lasagne this week but don’t care when? Say so, and the tomte finds it a night.

Pick a protein.

Chicken-heavy week? Fish on Friday? Done.

Set weekly limits.

So your favourite doesn’t turn up five nights running (even if you’d secretly be fine with that).

And a few clever bits

Leftovers, handled.

Monday’s lasagne is Tuesday’s lunch, and the rest goes in the freezer for a night when nobody can be bothered.

Uses what you’ve already got.

Food close to its use-by date gets planned first. That lonely half-bag of spinach finally gets its moment.

Knows who’s actually home.

It reads the family calendar, so the plan cooks for the people who’ll really be at the table.

Nutrition at a glance.

Everyone gets their own targets and a daily traffic light. Red means maybe don’t have the third bread roll. (Danny, this means you.)

Prep on Sunday, relax on Wednesday.

Marinating, chopping, soaking: prep steps become tasks for the night before, or get batched onto a Sunday, so weeknights are just cooking.

Or just ask.

Type “something quick with chicken on Tuesday” and the week rearranges itself. That’s a Smart Action.

Meet Smart Actions

On every plan

Planning the week, guard rails, leftovers, food prep tasks, nutrition traffic lights and swapping meals are on every plan.

Premium adds:

  • Playlists: save a group of go-to recipes (“Winter warmers”, “Leo will actually eat these”) and drop them into any week.
  • Meal prep strategy: fine-tune how and when prep gets batched.
  • Review queue: check imported recipes before they join the rotation.

Meal planning questions

How does it choose meals?

It starts with the rules that can’t bend (allergies and dietary needs), then looks at who’s home, what’s in the kitchen and what’s about to go off, then your ratings and recent meals so things don’t get repetitive.

Can I still plan meals myself?

Of course. Drop any recipe into any slot, and let the tomte fill in the rest (or not).

What if no recipe fits a slot?

It leaves the slot empty and tells you exactly why, rather than quietly suggesting something outside your rules.

Where do the recipes come from?

The tomte goes looking for the right recipe for every meal, from real cooks and food writers, with a link back to the original. Got a family favourite? Add it by hand, import it from a link or snap a photo of the cookbook page, and it goes into the mix.
